Potoczek is located in the village of Stryszow, in the heart of the hilly region of Lesser Poland (Malopolska), 40 km from Krakow and 100 km from Zakopane, Potoczek gives you a chance to either spend a quiet holiday far from city noise in the Beskid Mountains, or visit Krakow - one of Poland's most beautiful cities, or Zakopane - Poland's winter capital at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.
The House
We offer you a comfortable house with two seperate apartments, each with 2 double bedrooms, a sitting-room, a bathroom, a toilet and a small kitchen. Each apartment can accommodate 4 people. If necessary, the sitting-room can also be used as a bedroom for 2 additional people. Each apartment has a separate enterance from the garden.
The house was originally built half a century ago but it was refurbished in 2006. All the rooms are fully furnished in a nice and pleasant style. In the sitting-room there is a TV set. In the kitchen there is a fridge and an electrical cooker.
Garden
Potoczek has a nice spacious garden where you can sit and relax, listen to birds' singing, sunbathe and have a barbecue or a campfire. The garden is fenced, so parents can be sure that their children are safe here. Children can play the ball, badminton and play in the sandpit. Near the house there is also a small swimming-pool for them.
In the garden there is an old smithy, where you can see original blacksmith's tools form the first half of 20th century, and a barn. Both the smithy, which is made of stone, and the wooden barn contribute to the atmosphere of Potoczek and give it a country touch
Surroundings
Potoczek is located in Stryszow, southern Poland. It is a wonderful place for walking, hiking, cycling, taking pictures and painting. You can take walks in the woods and fields and admire the beauty of nature. You can also visit the tourist attractions in the area and region:
UNESCO-listed Baroque Monastery in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska
The Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and a pilgrimage park with a chapel complex (Via Dolorosa and Our Lady's Chapels.
Lanckorona
A medieval town with a beautiful market square and original old style houses. On a hill near the market square (10 minutes' walk) there are ruins of a medieval castle.
Wadowice
Pope John Paul II's birthplace. The Pope House is open to visitors. Wadowice has a nice market square and a beautiful Basilica of Our Lady.
Krakow
There are so many interesting things to see in Krakow that you will certainly not regret visiting the it. Once the seat of the Polish kings and the capital of Poland, Krakow is now one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The city prides itself on numerous masterpieces of architecture, historical monuments, churches, museums and galleries.
Zakopane
Zakopane is called Poland's winter capital. Many winter sport events are held in Zakopane. Zakopane is located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. It has a very good infrastructure for tourists who come to the city in winter.
